Stress medicine has become the new important support for prevention and treatment of stress-related diseases. To respond to the national appeal, we dedicate a lot in establishing stress medicine groups to elucidate the physiological and pathological mechanisms of stress-related diseases and to provide strategies and medications for these diseases.

Two outstanding scientists serve as the team of the leadership of the platform, Prof. Canhua HUANG (Cheung Kong Scholar, National Distinguished Young Scholar, “973” Project chief scientist) and Prof. Lin ZHANG (State Council Expert for Special Allowance, the Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Expert by the Ministry of Health). Metabolic diseases and malignancy are the major research directions in our platform. We begin with elucidating molecular mechanisms and regulatory network of cellular stress, and try to achieve milestone breakthrough in prevention and treatment of metabolic disease and malignancy.

In the next 5 years, we will set up Bio-Med Experimental Platform, SPF Laboratory Animal Center, Metabonomics and Proteomics Research Platform, and Ultrastructural electron microscope. With the help of this set of hardware equipment, our scientists will be able to chase the top research topics in the field of the Stress Medicine. Besides, we plan to cooperate with MD Anderson Cancer Center to set up international cooperation. We aim to make our platform to be a provincial key laboratory in 2021 and have the potential to apply for the national key laboratory in near future. Our final goal is to construct a world’s leading level laboratory in 5 years.
