“Brain science and brain research” is one of four pilot projects launched by the “Science and Technology Innovation 2030 Major Project of China”, and the brain science research will rise to the national strategic intention. Based on the national strategy and the existing researches on brain science in our college, we propose to construct a translational scientific community of brain science, which is based on the study of disease and closely combined with clinical research.

Professor Peng LEI ，Professor Zhengrong WANG (State Council Allowance, Sichuan Province Academic Technology Leader) and Professor Jianguo QI are the academic leaders of the platform. Our research directions include the development of nervous system diseases, the underlying mechanism of rhythm-related diseases, and neurodegeneration. In the next five years, we plan to complete the updating, reforming and upgrading of the existing research platform and construct Brain Science Research Platform, which is composed of three modules: electrophysiological platform, two-photon laser microscope and live imaging platform and optogenetic behavior platform. In addition, our college is going to build an international cooperation laboratory with Florey Institute of Melbourne University, Australia.
